“Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space lies our freedom and power to
choose our response.  In our response lies our
growth and freedom”
— Viktor Frankl ; “Man’s Search for Meaning

Growth and Freedom: Isn’t that what each of us would like more of in our lives?

“Joy will occur in our live when day in and day out you are
Being who you were sent here to be.”
That is the Law of Soul Alignment as taught by
Frank Mallinder: Practical Wisdom: The Seeker’s Guide to a Meaningful Life
and “Change Your Energy, Change Your Life”

When is the last time you felt real Joy?

Both of the statements above have strongly influenced my journey from Where I was to Who I am. The podcast that posted on August 5, 2015 is titled “Mind the Gap” and it illustrates how I learned to create a gap when responding to stimulus, especially “old stuff” and how I began to accept the Good and the Joy that is always present in my Life…and in yours if you change your mind about how you look at things.

There was a time when I made it through days, weeks, months and years on auto-pilot. I was a workaholic, my life was totally out of balance and I rarely appreciated the amazingly spectacular opportunity for little joys and huge good.

Does that statement sound familiar to you? Many of us live on auto pilot.

When I read Viktor Frankl’s book and learned about “the gap”. My Life began to change…almost immediately.

Why?

Because I realized I no longer thought about my reactions to the stimuli in my life. My spouse and I had the very same arguments, time after time after time…almost word for word for several years. At that time I got up early, went to the business my husband and I owned, I worked until dark, finished paperwork while eating dinner, went to bed and started the same thing the next day. At one point we worked at a new business for three years without a single day off.   Yes, often that level of hard work and dedication are required….but not for three years.

When I learned about the gap, I began to change the way I responded to those things that led to my spouse and I disagreeing. I RESPONDED rather than RE-ACTED. See the difference? I learned to listen more carefully to what was being said to me…listening to the emotion and what was really being said, instead of reacting to what I anticipated was the same ‘ol, same ‘ol.

When I learned about the gap, I began to create more balance in my life. I’ll admit, it was not easy. I began taking a ride one afternoon a week without taking my cell phone. (that was huge!!) One morning a week I stayed home for a couple of extra hours and sat by the lake, read a book, wrote in my journal; created “me” time.

As I developed the gap and changed my behavior, I was walked a Path that led to a personal life coach and that’s when Frank Mallinder and The Law of Soul Alignment came along. When the student is ready, the teacher appears! I think it’s a Universal Law. It is taught in Frank Mallinder’s class series called “Change Your Energy, Change Your Life.”

As I began to recognize all the Joy that surrounded me, my authentic life and the Spiritual side of Me emerged. I even began to see joy in those areas of my life I had previously considered negative: There truly is a bright side to virtually every life situation.

The Law of Soul Alignment became visible in my heart. My eyes no longer only saw what appeared to be real, but the beauty in the perceived background of the “reality”. When you experience this, you’ll understand what I’m describing. Words do a poor job of describing the experience.

The Gap and The Law of Soul Alignment will change your life, too, if you are ready to seriously walk the Path from Where you are to Who you are. You will thoroughly enjoy the process, I promise. Read both books: Man’s Search for Meaning by Dr. Viktor Frankl and Practical Wisdom by Frank Mallinder. Your life will change for the better, you will become more You and your joy will be visible…to you and by others.
